Cockatiels are allowed out to climb on the hanging ropes and Atoms in the small bird room.  They always get along and find their own preferred spot in the apparatus.  

Other types of birds are allowed out individually as they sometimes get into disagreements with each other.  Cockatiels are the pacifists in the bird world.  Probably because they band together is huge flocks in the wild.  

Even if others are out by themselves, they are benefitting from being close to others and that allows socialization without fraternization.  

Having individual rooms for different size birds keeps peace in the home.  Cockatiels and Budgies, Conures and Pocephalus, Greys and Amazons,  and large Macaws each have their designated spaces.
